Anybody else doing it ?

I've just entered this afternoon, will be my first one of the year. Started running about a month ago after an eight month lay off. Not expecting a brilliant time but should be a good marker to see if I get quicker at them over next few months.

Good luck Kev! You're built like a racing whippet so I want to see a sub-40 minutes from you 😉

There used to be a Forest Five event there, also a ten miler.

Oooh tempting tho I see today was the last entry date without entry on the day...perhaps I'm too late?

cinnamon_girl, well I ran this afternoon what i reckon is near the distance in 45 min... so, maybe a bit quicker on the day with people to chase ! ...felt a bit slugggish earlier too, lunch hadn't gone down properly, reckon if im lighter on ma toes i can do it !

well i did it, crikey.. it was hot I found it and blimmmin hard work. Should've slowed down and taken it easy but that's not ma nature, think I over cooked it a bit ! Got to 3k and knew it was going to hard, got to 5k and found it difficult to keep the pace up, the wall came into view at about 6-7k and it nearly stopped me dead my tracks, from 8k onwards it took severe amounts of determination to keep going. Dunno what my time was yet, can't find results anywhere. Im hoping for sub 45min.

Well done.

andywhit - loads of the runners use the trails. I almost collided with one couple running up the Labyrinth who then proceeded to give me a load of abuse.

Keva, I was one of the group of MTBers that was respectfully waiting 40m up the trail near the start. We did all shout some kind of encouragement. 😀
