Bins came yesterday; and not a moment too soon.

I climbed [s]into[/s] on top of our paper and card bin last night and exerted my mass onto it. We now have enough to see us through to Monday when bins *should* be collected.

Giant: looks nice, but I wonder if Giant realise that the readership of STW are somewhat sceptical following the Giant warranty thread and article?

We have young kids meaning lots of presents and combines with no recycling collection since Christmas eve means that I'm using both our elderly neighbours space bin capacity on top of already taking a boot load to put in the work dumpster. All toy packaging and wrapping, honest, no empty alcohol bottles at all.

Our bin collections don’t stop over Christmas. Never thought about it before, now I feel privileged!

My thoughts as well, especially with an own-brand fork? No thanks.

The Giant fairly obviously doesn't use the Maestro system as it's a linkage driven single pivot. It's pivot location is fairly unusual though.

Does that forward pivot position on the Giant mean that it's effectively got massively long chain stays?

Mmmm. Pizza. By my reckoning, that Pizza rack's max carrying capacity allows the rider to transport 15 takeaway pizzas. I would expect this feature to be rigorously checked as part of the test by @Chipps

@Gribs - Yep. Soz. Amended.

@chipps - yes and no. The swingarm is relatively long but chainstay length is BB to rear axle.

Ours don't stop but days change on BH weeks. The issue is that recycling is only fortnightly so with the last one being on Christmas eve it was the maximum possible time before collection during the one time of year where we don't have enough bin capacity. Yet every week they will collect as many bin bags full of landfill as you wish. It doesn't exactly encourage recycling as demonstrated by our neighbour who had over 10 binbags out for collection last week, no doubt 90% recyclable.

Those Shimano GF4s look like school pumps from the 70/80s
