Waterproof to IP-67 rating (“dust and brief immersion in water”).
Is this enough for day to day mtb use? My bikes have been in enough streams and ‘immersive’ rain that I wonder.

Why would there be? Northumberland is in Northumbria so if they're going to Northumberland they must also be going to Northumbria - unless they started there obviously.
The Vyron MDS V.3 dispenses with a rechargeable battery, instead there’s a CR2 lithium battery
That seems a very odd decision - so now both shifter and post use single use batteries that will frequently end up in landfill. Neither of those sizes are (AFAIK) available in NiMh or Li-ion rechargeable versions either.
Seems a step backward and would put me off owning (CR2's aren't something you'd find in a corner shop or up a mountain either)
CR2 batteries. £10 for a pack of 2 at Argos. Or £8 from Bezosazon.

(Lithium rechargeable ones are available- just not in Wilko's or B+M, so you have to Internet shop around)
