Good ride all - even though I didn't even stay with you on the flat bit 🙂
Not sure what my pb is - but 68:18 today was pretty good!

About halfway up, I thought balls to this and almost stopped but it was raining and not like I'd have been doing anything else....

Sorry tyke think I may have missed you coming over, I should have stayed right side of the banner to stay in the meetup but, as always, forgot I kicks me from group until it did. I thought I'd hung on for everyone coming in before I set off down the other side sorry.

Great effort though all of you.

Will go for something a bit more conducive to staying as a group next week, so might be hills in name more than practice.

@dangeourbrain – really impressive time – you should be well chuffed.

Yeah very pleased with it, took almost bang on 10 minutes out of my Pb today. Think I've Phil to thank for that though. Without him to follow in the last 4 segments when I wasn't able to keep swapping out I'd have dropped my watts a fair bit, I'm not sure how much difference draft makes up the hill but having a body to chase really helps. Still would have shaved a few minutes off but certainly would have been slower than I was without him.

So...I have always moved my fan about by grabbing the mesh guard and manhandling it about. I have to move it to change the speed or if I start with it off and then need to turn I on.

Over time the mesh gets squashed into the blades and I have to push it back out.
So, I designed and printed a handle to help move it about. Today's ride was the first trial....I worked pretty well. I could have made the fixings better, but have been procrastinating for ages over it, so just wanted to get it sorted.

I also did some feet as they kept popping off when I dragged it across the floor...

Not sure it helped my performance, but definitely less distracting!

Things on the epic KoM as re a bit more social and I've got mountain 8 and Muir and the mountains to tick off, but whatever I'll be broken and flagging off the back easy or not. I'm not built for hills.

You do realise most fans have buttons on to make them oscillate don’t you? 😉

If anyone fancies it by the way I'm going to enter tomorrow's 17.30 ZHR zwift handicap (hare and hounds), it's single lap of volcano climb so a good pitch in the middle but a nice chunk of flat in and out too.

It was a last minute decision to join this morning after looking out of the window and deciding to sack off an outdoor ride!

As always, really enjoyed the ride - thanks for organising @Dangeourbrain

Well done all...some impressive times and some huge minutes taken off your PB's.
Wish I could have joined as I'm sure times are improved when you have each other to chase on the mountain.

See some of you for the flat commute tomorrow am.

@Dangeourbrain couldn't join the meetup as there was no join button on the screen...weird...guess a glitch.

I'll try again tomorrow and do a free ride now

I had a problem with that yesterday. The button appeared just in time to join the Sunday Hills ride and messages didn't work for the first 20 mins or so. I thought everyone was really grumpy and didn't want to talk.

Any plans for a Tuesday evening ride?

Sprint works pretty well - maybe Richmond?

I think you may have been hiding Craig, for some reason you weren't visible in t he list of people riding new York either for about 5 minutes.

Very odd but hey, all good in the end, even if I didn't get my flat start to the day...

Yeah sorry about the steep start, that New York hill is mental, 17% at times. I ended up going up it twice to complete the bagel route. I only picked that route as I couldn't do the meeting and it needed ticking off.

Hopefully the meetup will work tomorrow am....another hilly one!

If nothing else or answered my question as to what the NY KOM was. I'd never figured out what in Central Park would qualify.

One set then for fan flats since I missed my flat ride today.

17.30 for an hour if folks want to stay that long.

Weeksy's winning formula 175-200w group, fast folk up the road no doubt, sprints on alternating laps.

What short hilly one are you planning on? We're on for whole lot of lava at 7am for commute club if you fancy.

Can't make the one tomorrow afternoon, going for a proper outdoors ride instead. Have a good one everyone.

Enjoy, is fulgaz another program in its own right then? Is assumed it was just a riding group when it's been posted previously.

Joined tomorrow's commute Brian but I'll need to bail at 7-45 as I've got an early start at work.

Yes Fulgaz is an app in it's own right, it's more solo rides thought they do events everynow and then with a leaderboard. The rides are video's of real rides from around the world, new rides every Tuesday and plenty of hills and mountains 🙂

I've used it for 18 months now, I joined Zwift in May for a bit lockdown variety, I'll run both apps for now as I like bits from both for now, if I have to cut costs I'd drop Zwift, do like the group aspect, adds a different dimension to virtual riding.

My legs are battered but I am still planning to be on tonight's ride 🙂

Thanks again @dangeourbrain for waiting at the end and organising, that was much tougher than it looks and impressive times put down too, not what I'd normally do, great for variety though I would do again.... I think... 🙂

Yeah it's amazing what the sprints take out of you, especially trying to beat Gary's time.

Good to have you along folks thank you.

Gary has the green jersey as well which I think you only get if you are fastest out everyone on the Zwift map at that time (so about 1500 people I think) not just those visible in the meet-up so a good effort.

Sand and sequoias in the morning.

Indeed, I think titan's Grove might be a bit slower than normal.
By heck my legs are tired

Going to have to ditch robbo, I've had a call and got to go into the office this morning.

Hopefully it'll work without my being there as typically its a full house today.

3 out of 4 on the commute this morning Brian, a good pace too, both on the flat and the hills.

Are we going again tomorrow? Yorkshire or is it too hilly? I'm easy wherever.

Well there had to be someone didn't make it, I don't think we're actually allowed 4 of us,it's like crossing the beams or something.

Happy to put one in for Yorkshire tomorrow if people fancy but I'm not sure if I'm going to be on the office yet or not, depends how a few bits go today. Looking 50/50 I'll be in the rest of the week.

Yeh it worked well.

Not sure what it is that normally fractures the group on every bloody climb and sprint normally.....     🤔

I'm pretty sure it's Robbo, but he was tired this morning after yesterday morning and evening.

I mean, to me that was the obvious difference between this morning and other mornings. Heck it's so obvious I can tell even though I wasn't there.

🧐

Anyway, I’d be up for tomorrow. I have Pilates and XC running pencilled in but would be up for shifting the run to lunchtime.
