I was thinking of a longer and gentler one Sat morning about 10:30 for 2 hours?

Count me in Weeksy, sounds good!

Chat was indeed a bit in decline last night at times, mostly it seems to be me doing it, but that's ok, I'm cool with that.

No worries there matey. Your group seems a tough one.
Anyway, event created, see some of you there.

I only stop chatting when I'm dying and trying to hold onto the group 🙂

I'm in, I need to work on speed now so hoping this helps, been doing too many hills recently on solo efforts, my legs are shot.

Chat was indeed a bit in decline last night at times,
pretty difficult for me (and anyone else on a tablet) due to not having a real keyboard. Would be up for giving voice chat over discord a go! If it worked OK I'm sure it'd be more "bantzy" than just typed messages! Or does that go too far and remove the level of abstraction that STW provides from the Real World...

you know if you install the companion app on a smart phone, you have the zwift guy on your ipad, and can message/change view/see map on the phone...

^^^^ yeah I was trying that last night, I can't type that accurately on a phone tho unless the pace is really sedate 😂

Yeh the second lap was where the chat fell apart last night. It was quite a bit pacier so more difficult to chat I think. Plus the groups were split so saying something to the whole group when you are working with 4 or 5 others doesn’t make sense.

Not sure about Saturday at the moment. Have an over unders workout on Friday so will see how I feel after that.

Yeah good point it is hard to type when working hard. It wasn’t a criticism more of a question is that how we could manage a hilly one. It’s all good training though.

So with very little take up on the invite, only 7 riders... i'm guessing either the time doesn't suit or the length or the layout ?

Prob a bit late on a Saturday for me. For a longer ride I would prob prefer a longer course as well I think but I know it isn't as easy to keep the group together then so it is catch 22 really. I think the short crit course work well for the group rides with lap on and lap off but only for an hour I would say

I've done the event for an hour... for on-off laps... We can then ride longer if people want to.

I've signed up for Saturday - I'm sure the original one said 1030hrs though.

I was just thinking - what we could do someday is a hare & hounds team pursuit style thing? Create 2 meet-ups on the same course but 5 mins apart. C&D riders go first, A&B riders go 5 mins later and the first group to get a rider over the line wins.

Obviously the details would need fine tuning in terms of course and headstart etc but the racing is usually quite good, I used to enter something similar back on Jarvis Island.

Hi folks,

Would like to participate although i'm on nights this weekend. Keep sending me invites though Weeksy! I appear to have become slightly hooked on another cycling format...

Not sure if I'll make Saturday, 10.30 is a bit of an odd time for me anyhow but I might have my turbo in peices by then after this evening

@weeksy New York and a Richmond are first worlds tomorrow so you might want to change for the London Classique is similar?

I had a few drinks last night

I don’t normally drink, it was just that sort of week

I’m not currently doing very well 🥴

Heard reports they had screwed it even more yesterday.

How so?

Typically mine seemed better yesterday than Thursday, which seemed to be worse than earlier in the week (could easily have been just me).

Would sound entirely plausible that they broke out for X people, in fixing that they broke it for Y instead.

That was brutal but lots of fun. Nearly fell off my turbo in a heap at the end didn't quite have enough to stick with the front boys all the way to the end fell away with a minute or so left.

The tempo was brilliant until everyone bailed with 500m to the line. I was getting ready for battle, then everyone stopped on the hour!!! Wtf.

Tough but fine fun that

Enjoyed that, but I was broken after the last sprint, no way I could manage any tempo.

That, and I managed to lift the trainer up on the 3rd sprint, might need to find some ballast!

I took it easy on the final sprint with the last lap in mind but then missed the split for the tempo and didn't have the legs left to jump across.

I found my 2 best sprint results came when I didn't have power-ups to worry about - easing off to hit the button at the right time seems to cost me more than just riding!

I've also gone with the orange cap, socks and beard/hair to make identification easier on the TTT - it's a pretty strong look...

Great that...thanks as always Steve!

I actually hit 800w at one point and earned a badge, didn't realise I had it in me 🙂

I'm thinking of changing my hair to really long with full beard, for the lockdown look 😉

Thanks again for organising Steve, I think I enjoyed it! Never quite sure when the sprint is about to kick off, I’m too busy trying not to lose the wheel in front. Not that it would make much difference.

Bah! I have to say I was amazed by the fact I was keeping up with everyone in the earlier meet-ups. My power seemed a bit optimistic compared to what I normally manage.
My trainer is weird, it seems to hold calibration for ages and then go a bit skew whiff all of a sudden. I think I need to check it at least weekly.

I think the recalibration has put me back about where I should probably be.

Bah! Need to train more. Feel a bit demoralised now...

I'm sure it's a calibration issue Stumpy, as you would definitely keep up with me in usual riding...I'm usually dying most rides and holding on.

Best try calibrating again and see if it makes a difference. What trainer have you got?

Tough to say, you can only take the word of the Apps if no other option. Back when I first got my Snap, we tested it with a pair of power pedals and all were pretty damn close.

I also had another snap in the garage recently which seemed the same when riding so I'm pretty happy mine is ok.

Anyone locally you can borrow anything from to test.?

Just for info, I'm having a bit of a rest. I may do the TTT on Thurs, but that's it this week. My legs are just fried every minute of every day currently, I think I've had 3 days off in 6 weeks. So, it's time for a rest period.

So, someone needs to take charge of the next couple
