Middle ring specifically at the moment but will need to replace others at some point.

M970 middle and outer rings are pretty much standard. The inner ring has a custom offset but you can replicate it with a normal ring and some spacers (one of mine has a Works single ring on it, the other has an SLX inner and a deore steel middle 😉 )

I just use any 4 bolt ring. For the granny ring you need to use 2mm washers/spacers though as the standard XTR one is dished.

Middleburn do direct replacement for half the cost of XTR no need to faff with washers or spacers.

Yeah, but then you have Middleburn rings.

You can use anything you want on the middle/outer. The only thing special about the Middleburn ones (aside from the offset inner) is they match the profile of the spider.

Middleburn do direct replacement for half the cost of XTR no need to faff with washers or spacers.

And the only downside will be the inferior shifting and fast wear rate- win!

Agree shifting not quite as good but wear rate in my experience is the same, I would buy again.

imo avoid the middleburn rings on a double or triple - they are pretty crap in my experience

I had to replace a middle and inner a few weeks ago, bike discount.de were the cheapest at £14 for the inner and £63 for the middle - it still hurt but cheaper than anywhere else!
