Would like to go 1x9 but havnt liked any of the set ups ive seen using
the XTR M970 cranks , should i get a set of XTR M960 which will cut down and look alot nicer, does or has anyone done a M970 1x9 set up that looks good and works,

guitarhero That looks great, is that a bash ring, was it an easy conversion , ive got the XTR M970 chainset, so dont rearly want to buy another, but your conversion looks good in that photo, have you any with abit closer up of cranks, thanks PN

There you go, sorry for the crappy phone pic.
Bash just goes straight on in place of big ring, easy.
Cranks are a bit beat up now, but are 3 years old now and going strong.
Problem with the 960 is ring availability due to XTR-only hole convention.
