[Closed] XTR calipers with Avid rotors and adaptors possible?

Just upgraded to a set of XTR brakes, but they come without rotors. Is anyone running an XTR caliper on the front with an Avid 185mm adaptor and Avid 185mm discs? Has anyone had any problems trying to do this in the past?

Can I get away with the Avid kit, or do I need to splash out on XT specific discs and adaptors?

should be fine.

This stuff is generally mix 'n' match.

I would have thought an adaptor would be an adaptor, if you know what I mean. As long as the caliper is for say, a 165 disc, and the adaptor is +20mm.
The discs should be the same thickness. That is all you have to worry about. If the disc is thicker, then the pad to disc clearance will be less.

Discs do not need to be the same thickness. The pads retract by teh same amount, that's how they work.

Trust me, I've run all sorts together without issue.

Cheers for the info. I'll hold off on ordering any new discs/adaptors then.
