I really like em, but.. two proprietary tools to do up the centre lock discs. I have SLX discs and I assumed my freewheel thingy would crank them up tight, the 20mm front one I got tight using some of those funny plummer pliers but the rear one is just on "finger tight" anyone know what tools I need cant find anything on them. Its a total ball ache.

All Shimano 15 and 20mm hubs use the oversized CL locking (needed to clear the axle diameter). It's red (on the XT AM wheelset) and should've come with the wheels. You'll need a HTII BB fitting tool to tighten it up. Hope this helps.

Have you looked at the manual for these on the Shimano website? Other part manuals usually list any specific Shimano tools required for those parts.

There you go -

Seems like there are 2 tools, one that looks like the one used for cassette lock rings (male tool/female ring) and another that has a female tool for a male ring.

I've just Googles the code for the female tool and it seems it is the same tool as used for installing external shimano BB cups.

The rear lock ring is tightened with the same tool the rear cassette is tightened with if I remember correctly.

With my lx wheels I had to get a new park cassette lock ring tool as my existing one was too shallow to clear the lock nut.

Its not quite the same, I have a cassette lock ring tool, the splines on the disc ones are deeper and narrower i.e. it doesn't fit.

it's the same spline for standard centerlock as the cassette tool, but the standard shimango one doesn't fit coz it needs a deeper and wider space for the axle end..
an oopsy oversight from the great shimango I think...

LIFU/IceToolz on is £5 though!
