XT 12sp now has 3 chainlines
52mm 142/boost narrow
55mm boost wide
57.5mm superboost
Has anyone gone from 52 to 55? Most info I can find says boost is a 52mm chainline. Will 55 be the new normal?

I had to go to 55mm on a standard boost frame (santa cruz 5010) to get the 1x12 to work well.

I'd never heard of this.
So 52mm and 55mm are both designed to work with boost/148 hubs? Does the 3mm outboard offset not affect shifting at the top of the cassette?
Does this mean you could use an old non-boost 3x chainset with the chainring in the outer position?
