XC rip round this morning with Mrsstu.
It's beautiful out there in our local hills.
Sunny but windy as **** on the tops.

Beautiful colours this morning.
Stunning morning for a club ride. (Forgot to take a pic of my bike ??♂️ (face-palm emoji in case emoji doesn't work)

Stunning weather and autumnal colour for my mate's birthday ride. Found a new trail near Staunton a couple of weeks ago, and rode it today. Was occasionally sketchy with damp rock and muddy tyres, but all good in the end.
@singlespeedstu - always good to see a Bardino out 🙂

And even tho I probably paid too much for this 2019 Yeti SB130 LR (especially after having to fix most of it!), it's my fav trail bike for this kind of riding.

Couple off phone videos. As ever always looks steeper from the cockpit 🙂

Tis the season for big mudguards and even bigger spikes, at least I thought it was, trails were super grippy and mostly slop-free.

Reconise that sign @doomanic - start of the trails at Shuttcastle? Might have to get up there next week if it stays dry.

Pump track action for us this Arvo at parkwood springs

Not exactly a ride, but golden falling leaves in the air and on ledges were pretty down this gurt big 'ole in the Dales yesterday...

Some messing about in the local woods, a bit of trail maintenance and a pint in the sun.
Hoping the upload works: Fosen peninsula ??
Was your pic taken near Staunton?
Yep. First set are just above "wave rock". Vidcaps are a new trail to us between Billy's and Rusty Cable. Meets the bottom of Billy's. There's one rock drop with a gap we all decided to save until it was bone dry!
The change is much later this year but it's starting, let's hope the leaves stay on the trees long enough.
This has started much earlier though .
Out in the woods
Early morning ride in Swaledale for me.

Yair again with a slippy slidey sniper. Bigger than usual group.
Managed to time our ride yesterday with the sunny spell this weekend. Not so nice today, but at least I got back out before it started piddling down.

A properly gorgeous autumn day up on the downs this morning, no wind, lots of sun, and only occasional mud

No sun in the Peaks yesterday ☹️

Wiltshire looking fine today.
[Edit: I am a terrible photographer. Let me know if anyone needs any photos of gates when there's some stunning landscape about 😉 ]

Family ride to Wray castle.
The plains of East Devon (Woodbury) were running lovely today.
45km of pebbly and heathery singletrack on my overly bright SS...

Round the windfarm before the rain..

Holy converging perspective lines Batman!

Roslin Glen is glorious in this weather.
Out for a walk with one of my riding friends and our hounds. Beautiful day for it.

Who doesn't love a spoon on a Sunday afternoon??

Earlyish solo ride around my local woods
There is a reservoir, it's in Wales and you get overtaken by eMTB all the time.
Well it had clouded over by the time I got out, but I rode some mega new tracks. Not many good photos because I was too preoccupied either navigating or being terrified. It was mint!

From a brilliant walk earlier in the day wi' the fam when it was sunny:

This morning was my second consecutive early Sunday solo singletrack right - last weekend was literally the first ride I’d ever started in the dark and watched dawn break, despite years of doing the other end of the day. Too much family life getting in the way and I do prefer riding with others but I’m rather liking the early solo thing.
Glad I changed the rear tyre to my winter one after last week’s uphill wheelspin moments. Pretty muddy in the woods, and plenty of wet leaves on wet roots moments of getting loose…
It’s funny how when I look at photos of solo rides it always looks like I’ve gone for an XC bimble even though I’m usually just lapping singletrack, trying to hit the turns etc as fast as possible. Never any action shots!
P.S. Yes, that is a mud prevention sock on my water bottle…
Out with the pup up on the Blacks. Glorious weather and colours. A last hoorah before the cold and grey of a Welsh winter set in.

@daverhp Looks like Alum Pot? If so it was my first SRT trip way back in the late 80s after a quick demonstration on a tree in the Ingelton caravan site. Did the direct free-hang North-West route. Think it was a 60 meter drop. Pretty intimidating and took a good 30 minutes to prussik back up!
Looks like Alum Pot?
That would be correct! It's just up the road so a regular haunt for an easy day underground (or in this case to get some snaps for our caving club slide show this coming weekend).
Monday is my weekend. Pictures don't show how rough Devil's Elbow is.

Finished off my weekend this morning.
Started off nice them became increasingly greasier as the rain came in.
After many many months Flat White is open again.
Pump track smooth until tomorrow at the latest.
😯
Last day sneaking rides into family holiday in North Wales. It rained overnight so I fancied something well surfaced. Went to llandegla as I'd not been before and I was just about whelmed.

Started really really boringly. No fun at all. It was all the same and all meh. Blue meh red meh black meh.
Then got to the black off piste bit and that was waaaaaay better but only a few runs of it - which I lapped a few times on't eeb. Trail quality improved generally after that, however some of the tables/gaps are really weirdly spaced and not trail speed at all, which made hitting them blind problematic. The big new jump line is good though, I would really .like to go back for a proper go. but weirdly it's absolutely miles from the trail centre hub but yet must be a massive investment and draw on the yoot (?)
Trail gradings also seems to have no resemblance to what was happening on the ground. Some of the black bits were no more than blue to my mind, but then also some of the black off piste and jumps were properly committing(?)
So all in all I'm glad I went to see what was there. I had fun, but it was a bit of an odd setup. To be honest I wouldn't exactly rush back.
I'll stick this one up it's better than mine.
