CR are doing some organics for only £20 for 4 sets, sounds good but are organics cheese-like? They are for a cross bike which is mainly ridden on the road.
btw they are the newer versions with the round pads.

I think the original Avid pads are good all rounders.

Organic will be softer than sintered. You'll get more braking power but also more heat build up (not really an issue with cables though). In theory you'll get the same braking force for less input at the lever. They will wear out faster to.
