Here's my Crosslight Pro 6 (now with look quartz pedals)

[img] [/img]

Due to having a low paid weekly paid job it's been slow progress. But, thanks to 18 bikes patience it will soon be complete

THat Scandal looks promising, Will! 29er, I'm guessing from the wonky seat tube?

I was hoping I'd get lucky with a magic ratio, but I didn't, so this is still a project, awaiting an EBB. And hose shortening. And decisions on spacers, stem length and steerer length.

Quite a rigid bunch! Let's balance it out

It's slightly further on now, made some new shock hardware and got the shock in, fixed the headset, got some string through the swingarm so I can fit the cables and hoses (dropped a rubber ferrule inside, spent ages getting it back out!). I love building bikes, usually I end up doing it in a hurry but this time I'm making it last. It's like foreplay ๐Ÿ˜‰

ir_bandito, what's going on there then? Tinbred?

Just built up from bits lying around as i was desperate to see how it rode... First time SSing on a bike that fit, not a dj bike!

Forks are now reba teams. Shivers are for sale!
Waiting for some tech x2s to arrive.
Got a pro 2 to go on the rear to match the front
Seat post and stem are to be coordinated, and will probably have 'Thomson' written on them.
Xt trail spds on the way (a first for me on an mtb)
May put a dropper post on.
Eventually will re paint the frame, maybe raw and lacquered.

Anything I've missed?

Oh the chain? What do you reckon. Stay or go?

If the forks are gone and the seatpost is changing, no need for eyebleach there...

Are those Niner forks on the Scandal? Was just looking at some but really cant afford. Those exotic (is that the right brand - same as the White Ind ones?) look a good compromise.

Ah, now that was a debate I was having, silver or black stem and seatpost, the only reason I'm changing the post is it weighs more than the moon....

If I went silver, so would the chain. If I went black, so would the chain. Not looking good for the chain to be fair. Or the grips.

Bike build projects are rubbish for my ocbd (obsessive compulsive bike disorder) and my ocbd is even worse for my wallet!

Some very lovely things in progress there.

I've just reshuffled the build of the 456 and am building my Schwinn Homegrown up as an xc bike again for the distance stuff/less techy rides. Not bling enough for the pictures though as its a functional parts bin special.

Northwind, not sure the angle of that saddle complies with UCI regulations. sorry.

Think you'll find it's almost completely flat when the bike's on its wheels , it's just in the stand at an angle. That's the "riding uphill" seatpost and saddle, it's got a titchy wee Nukeproof one as well.

Yes the scandal is a 29er, the forks are chinese direct from a company called carbonzone http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/carbon-zone-29er-forks at some point in the future ill have to get them cut down but thats a while off yet still lots to do. The scandal has brought up some interesting things so far, the headset was a funny one, just discovered my 160mm BB7 avid calliper wont fit as standard so now i have to decide to get an adapter or re-think my brake choice. Oh and the bb is 73mm instead of the standard 68mm which is a sod because i wanted to use my square tapered middleburns and the choice for 73mm bb is not great.

Some great works in progress there.

I could post up another picture of my 224 looking almost very similiar  Bolted most of the small parts to it but the forks are still mid-respray, where they might remain for a very long time. Got to get it built and tested before 4th May

Brother will, thats what I'm waiting for, bidding on a CK sprocket and a Van Nic post. Sellers won't end auctions early ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

After that, just the chain that needs replacing with something a little more subtle, then raw and clear powdercoat the frame. Or if my bonus at work is any good, maybe a nicerer frame ๐Ÿ˜ณ

My new Cotic BFe, which is very nearly done. The chain ring arrived today so it was fitted and I drilled out the cable stops to run a full outer cable on the rear mech, but I still need a mech (SRAM X9 Type 2) and shifter (SRAM X0) to arrive from Germany to finish it. I'm also waiting on some olives and barbs to shorten the brake hoses. I shortened and bled the Reverb and heli-taped it today too.

decided to spray the half that was ready, rather than letting it oxidise and need prepped again...

I think the white cranks are a bit much tbh! But we'll see.

I have the superstar headset as well, how did you find it fitted? My bottom cup was nice and tight but the top cup I can pull out with my my hand, I have measured them with a digital vernier and the headset cup seems to be spot on but the scandal headtube looks to be a not quite small enough.

Makes no real odds once it is all bolted up but a bit of a shame.

It fitted just fine, took a few attempts to get in but thats more down to my home-made headset installer solution. Its now seated fine and shows no signs of looseness.
