Hi all,

Thinking of heading upto Woburn for an early (pre child duty) ride this weekend. Anyone know what the roads are like around there (I'm southern point of Herts and my road has been a no go since the snow came)?

Thanks,

Nim

Not been up the woods but I live about 2 miles away and the main roads are all fine.

Where do you normally park?

Hi cheers for that. Only been once but parked on the grass verge up the road from the cross roads where the pub is i.e. as you go up that road, and there's an entrance on the right leading to the jumps.

Ah yes, that road will be fine.

Wasn't sure what church road (leading up into woods from Woburn Sands) would be like.

Cheers gents. Much appreciated. Is the better riding to be had on the jumps side or the other side of the road? Thanks

Will be on a 5" FS which may be overkill but all I have at the mo. Like a bit of everything (techy singletrack, smallish drops etc) - trail riding/larking about I guess. Normal riding is Norh Downs (Leith & Holmbury Hill) but Woburn so much closer so makes sense to get to know it better.

It depends on how long you are riding for.

Woburn has 3 section. Either side of Church road, which turns into a legal dirt road at the top. Even if I was only their for an hour I'd ride both sides of this road. Its a great time to go as the you will be able to see tyre tracks so easily. I found some new to me bits last weekend using this method

If I want a longer ride i cross the road here

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=491272&Y=234365&A=Y&Z=120

ride down the track behind the church and turn up left through a gate

loads more single track in here

You can either leave this area the way you went in or you can follow your nose and you should get spat out here

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=491629&Y=232665&A=Y&Z=120

Its the road and track back to where you started
