[Closed] Winter temps affecting fork performance

Is it normal for forks not to perform so well when it's freezing? I'm running 2012 55 RC3 ti Evo's which should feel amazing (and generally do) but today they felt like a £99 fork, like they had treacle in them, not oil - hard and sluggish in their action. Is this the low temps affecting oil viscosity or something? And should I swap to a better/lighter oil, or just suck it up while it's cold? Ta.

Fork oil is usualy monograde (rather than mutigrade like engine oil) so will thicken as it cools. You could swap it for a thinner oil if you use the bike enough in the nezt few days of freezing temperatures to make it worthwhile, but it'll probably go back to normal in a couple of days/weeks.

Wouldn't pressure changes from the forks simply working soon warm things up enough?
