Yes I know, dull subject. Have recently moved to a flat and therefore can no longer strip off muddy clothes in secluded back garden. Can anyone recommend their top choice mudguard to try and alleviate the worst of the mud please
Cheers
M

Can I be the second to say....are mudhuggers made from a rare moon plastic? They seem very pricey.

They are overpriced, and can't easily/quickly be removed/fitted

Injection moulded rather than flat sheet like mucky nutz and the like. Relatively high setup cost to recoup.

They do work very well though.

Agreed, I baulked a little at the price, but they do work very well. Ease of removal doesn't bother me - put them on after summer, take them off again if summer returns. Four cable ties cost abot 1p.

Mudhugger or a Crud raceguard with the bracket removed and tie-wrapped to the stays in a similar way

Decathlon did the mudgugger design first, although it requires some bodgery as theirs is designed to fit under V-brakes.

You should have gone to collect it.
It'd have been cheaper too. 😉

Read a review of the rear yesterday from when they were first released where they claim they paid £18 for a rear mudhugger. I paid £30 last week for my five specific rear mudhugger.

Now specific my arse, if it was five specific it would Hugg the back wheel like in all the nice press release pics and ads finishing almost horizontal. Were as on the five it juts up in the air at a jaunty angle seriously cutting down its effectiveness and giving the impression I am on an offy run.

It really needs a redesigning for the five, more semi circular to come back down over the rear wheel due to the shallower angle of the swing arm.

2.5L Subaru - 20'ish mpg (the way I drive), 25 mile round trip

As opposed to 1-click 🙂

Sometimes a mudhugger just isn't enough.

Quicksand ate my 29er! It looked like a normal piece of trail, then I was flying OTB!

By next week it will have a mudhugger.

used to use a rear crudcatcher on base of seat-tube, which was ideal, but cant fit it in now with reverb, as not enough exposed post. I bought a mudhugger, but not yet fitted, as weight, bulky and looks like a paint eater, albeit I'm sure it will be very effective. Currently using a muckynutz butt fender to keep the worst of it off..

So by a clear furlong, a mudhugger it is...... Next random question, do they fit around a specialised command post?

They fit onto the seat stays - totally away from the seat post

RTD - interesting route you're taking if it's anywhere near Enville 🙂

Ha ha - yeah the Enville White is pretty good - not sure it's better than meeting a pretty girl though 8)

Th other Enville with honey is very simialr to other Black Country beer - very sweet

Not as bad as Bathams though - that stuff really is sugar water

This is the king of all the Enville Ales.
Gothic and it always tastes best from The Cat.
In fact I will be sampling it again after tomorrows night ride.
