so it's getting colder and we are all getting excited about winter and I got thinking about those crappy Endura gloves I wore last winter - great on the bike, then turn themselves inside out/fingers get stuck etc in the wash and then I fight for 20 mins to get the inners back to the right place......just for the dame thing to happen next time

so has anyone found a good warm (like subzero warm) waterproofish, not bulky glove that will actually remain intact with the inners where they should be when taking off and washing etc ???

The inners on my sealskinz do that, it really gets on my nerves.

They are warm though and waterproof.

I've had a pair of Sealskinz for the past couple of years, waterproof and with a fully attached inner. Warm enough too.

They're past their best, so bought these:

Hopefully as good.

The Aldi ones are brill but not quite as warm as iainc seems to require. I think he lives in Scotland.

The Sealskinz technical ones are certianly too warm for anything much above freezing, and so I haven't ridden in mine a great deal - but they haven't done the annoying inside-out thing to me yet.

pearl izumi cyclone are good on their own as a spring / autumn glove (down to about 5 or 6 degrees) - not bulky at all and good cuffs which cover the wrist. with a liner they are also decent as a winter glove too - did me fine in the subzero conditions of last winter with an underglove underneath.

Any gloves i've tried with built in liners i've always had problems after taking them off or washing them

No, don't get me wrong. They're excellent, buy two pairs.

They're just not what I'd wear in subzero temperatures.

Fox Antifreeze are brilliant... The liner does come out, but it's supposed to, the gloves come in half for "just a bit cold" and "proper cold". Yet still have really good feel on the bars. I've got poor circulation so keeping hands warm is tricky, these do it but thanks to the 2-part option they're not ridiculously hot the rest of the time. (I do have a pair of Aldi ones as well but the Foxes are warmer, and nicer to ride in)

Any glove whose liner turns inside out is just not fit for purpose, it's bloody ridiculous.

indeed 😆

I get by with Spesh Deflects down to maybe 3 or 4 degrees, but a lot of last winters rides, esp night ones were below zero. The Endura gloves are great in these conditions when they are working, but the time and frustration of getting the liners back in just is sooooo annoying

I'm thinking of going a bit lateral and using some snowboarding pipe gloves for wet/cold conditions. They're not terribly waterproof, but neoprene'y/wetsuity. Anyone tried this kind of approach?

A guy I knew - ex yachtsman - swore by 'marigold' dish washing gloves ?? Didn't fancy going out with the pink ones i found under the sink so never found out but I would guess a liner underneath and that waterproof covering you'd have it all covered...

How is getting the liners back in difficult? I only ask as my Spesh gloves have liners and I just put the liners on my hands then my hands in the outers. Very easy.

the liners are attached at the cuff, so they come inside out in the wash , then you spend ages trying to poke the right bit into the right finger - there was a big post about it last winter and seemed to be common to many winter gloves

here it is :

Altura Night Visions are my glove of choice at the mo. I also suffer with Raynauds(or was that on another thread) so really need warm gloves.

Make sure you get the newer batch, or this years as there was a dodgy batch which shoul dall have been replaced.

Those DHBs are s**t, one of mine turned itself inside out on the second ride then proved impossible to get back in, I ended up having to cut the liner out entirely with a penknife so I could get the glove back on (in a hailstorm, up a mountain). Shame, they weren't bad for the 4 hours they'd lasted up til then. Wiggle didn't even bother arguing or asking for them back, just gave an immediate refund as soon as I said what'd happened, not a good sign.

I absolutely swear by the Lizard Skins Blizzard gloves, however can't comment on being waterproof. Kept my hands nice and warm all winter, even used them for work. Hope you find a suitable pair.
