got a genesis croix de fer and i'm fettling with her at the mo...got a set of spare kings on mavic 819's knocking about in the garage and have been thinking of swapping the rims for some 700c's to replace the stock deore hubs/alexis wheels that came with the C.d.F.

any thought on this and do any weight weenies know whether this would add alot more to the wheelset over the stock ones (could do with some advice on rim choice - 32 hole)

cheers

I would be surprised if it added weight.

I've got a feeling the axle length is shorter on the road bike rear 130mm as opposed to 135mm? not sure what spacing the CdF uses though.

CDF is 135, it uses an MTB rear hub.

That'll be fine.

Open Pro rims will work. I use them with XTR hubs on my Amazon. I'd have thought you'd be losing quite a few grams as the Deore hubs and Alex rims aren't exactly light.
