anyone know?
Call me crazy, but I wonder if Santa Cruz might know. They probably have some kind of internet-linked communications portal.
When I wanted to drill the stops out on my Orange, Orange said that it didn't matter at unless I did a bad job and somehow weakened the frame, in which case they wouldn't warranty any failure. That could all be entirely irrelevant, though, as Santa Cruz may have a different position.
I used to offer this service in the shop I used to work for. Santa Cruz at the time basically said the same as the post above. If you drill the guides on the top tube and your bottom bracket shell falls off, you're covered. Drill a guide and the tube then cracks at the guide then probably not. I've done loads and never had it cause a problem. Depends how good you are with a dremmel. Don't leave any sharp edges, it could pierce the hose as it flexes.
3fish is it not a public holiday?
To the best of my knowledge, Good Friday isn't a public holiday in the US, and they'll not even be out for lunch yet in California. In some respects, it still doesn't matter. If it were my frame/warranty, I would only want to hear from the national representative/distributor or the manufacturer. Anything else is anecdotal and would be insufficient grounds for me to throw away the warranty on hundreds of pounds worth of frame. You could even just get the 'phone to them - it'll only be pennies.
you can also get small metal adapters to fit brake stops the mount in them and nealty clamp and cable / hose. I think M parts do some. Got some and their good.
Yes It was a holiday in USA today
