I want to replace my XT 175mm cranks for 165 as I’m pig sick of pedal strikes, there doesn’t seem to be any availability for M8000 boost chainset in 165, but I’ve found M8120 12 speed, does anyone know if this will work ok with 11 sp chain?

M8000 boost in 165mm doesn’t exist; I had a similar situation as I had XT cranks but wanted to go 165mm. I looked at 12 speed XT cranks and fitting an 11 speed chainring and it started to get expensive, so I’ve fitted SRAM GX cranks and they are fine.

I’m hoping to save the expense of whole new drivetrain tbh, currently on 2x11, considered biting bullet and going 1x12 but if this 12 speed crankset fits it’ll save me couple of hundred quid!

I’m running M8100 cranks and chainring with 11 speed 11-46 XT Mech and chain with XTR shifter, works perfectly.
