[Closed] Will a 2x10 chainset work with an otherwise 9speed drivetrain?

I'm considering getting a newer style XTR chainset, which will probably be the 2x10 version. I want to run it with all the other 9 speed bits on my drivetrain.

Presumably the only thing I'd have to force into 10spd compliance would be the front mech?

Is this a recipe for happy harmony, or endless grief?

The internal width of 9 & 10 speed chains are the same, so no worries there
