The Wild Boar Chase is a popular MTB ride in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. You can choose your route from a 20, 26, 40 or 46 mile route.
All distances £24.
The Wild Boar Chase routes for 2017 have been revamped and big sections of the longer routes used in previous years have been replaced.
[b]The Full Boar[/b] (46 miles) covers the Forest of Dean section and descends to the river Wye.
[b]In the Hog[/b] (40 miles), riders take the Forest of Dean loop, missing out the descent to the river Wye.
[b]In the Woody Boar [/b](26 miles) riders tackle a loop in the Forest of Dean.
[b]The Small Boar[/b] (20 miles) covers a loop within the Forest of Dean.

Get the full Wild Boar Chase experience with a 9 mile trail for younger riders and their families.

All the organisers and helpers on this event are volunteers. After the Wild Boar Chase in 2016 the Lions were able to award more than £15,000 from the event’s proceeds to worthy causes in the Forest of Dean.
Any idea what the elevation gain for each route is?

I'm signed up for the full boar. First time for me!
Good stuff nre...thought it was a really enjoyable day last year.
Only thing I'd say is if it's the same route as last year try and get out towards the front early. I had a snapped chain on the first climb, went to be very back of the group, and then spent the next hour waiting to get through the singletrack bottleneck. Got a bit congested in places.
