A couple of years ago we saw two large Somali gangs having a fight. Three got stabbed, one in the head and two cars were trashed. Police response - one on a bicyle.

used to see a row of these;

[img] [/img]

always disconerting when one lurched towards the window next to my desk - out the corner of your eye you'd always think they were coming in.

oh, and out the other side was this place;

[img] [/img]

most intersting bit there was someone unloading a consignment of new 911's and Cayennes who obviously had a bit of brake/acccelerator trouble and parked a brand new cayenne on the bonnet of one of the 911's. She was lead into the building sobbing.

My old office window overlooked the back of an undertakers & the upstairs enbalming rooms - not the greatest if vistas I have to admit ๐Ÿ˜•

My new office has a row of trees & the squirrels are quite amusing/funny ๐Ÿ™‚

University admin staff standing around smoking, doing chuff all for hours on end and waiting for the catering van to come and fill them with pies. Again.

Oh, hang on this is the "things that you don't see every day out of your office window". My mistake.

Although at least I know where to find them next time they demand that I fill in some pointless piece of job creation/protection paperwork urgently so they can lose it under a pile of Gregs pasty wrappers for 8 weeks and then make me do it again because the date has lapsed........

Military helicopter landing on the Leeds Gen Infirmary just a moment ago, wierd as it doesnt happen often.

And I always find it fascinating watching the delivery of money to the Bank of England vault with armed police escort.

Croydon.......which i still think is some kind of a social experiment, never known a place to have so many weirdos!

Even the riots couldn't make it interesting, although it was great to get sent home from work early during the riots as the Police tipped us off there was a group of youths in hoodies coming our way, only to later find out that they were foreign students.

Have recently moved to a new pew and the same bloke walks along the corridor min 50 times a day I shit you not.

In one direction he's carrying a bit of paper and gives it the old raised-eyebrow-smiley-face look but coming back he has no paper and looks worried.

I've seen the Police do a drugs raid on the same house twice.

A Police motorcyclist get killed as a lorry pulled in front of him as he was responding to a call.

Probably all of Sheffield's unmarked and marked Police fast response cars doing probably well over 100 mph one after another flying up the road.

Other than that nothing really exciting, apart form the occasional air rifle shooting out the windows of the office.

From the Gherkin, we watched a small aircraft circling just west of (the Natwest) Tower 42. Level with us on the 16th floor. Must have been very close, we were honestly expecting an impact. Did 3 or 4 passes and buggered off. I scoured the news for the next few days, but there was absolutely nothing...

Doo doo doo doo.

One hot day, summer 2005 I think it was. The three hot female students that lived in the flat opposite the office window went on their roof to sunbathe topless.

The Tour of Britain came past the window on the other side that summer too.

I've worked in Rotherham since, nothing interesting happens here.

These posts make my window in Bradford sound very interesting!!

Over the years I've had (in no particular order),
Several people pissing in doorways,
a guy defacating into a Biffa wheely bin,
two people smoking crack in a car,
two people having sex in a car, (two seperate occasions),
two beauticians getting undressed,
a guy in the appartments opposite tugging one off,
a girl who used to spin round all night in her window (that was just weird),
several naked female students in the appartment windows opposite,
a guy breaking into cars, (we called the fuzz)
a police chase, during which the suspect threw a handgun into the beck,
armed police making an arrest,
a couple of massive mill fires,
two Chinook helicopters,
Yorkshires biggest fountain,
a huge bird of prey we couldn't recognise, but agreed it looked most like a vulture or condor!
Several ketrels striking pigeons
and dozens upon dozens of cyclists going the wrong way down the one way street!!!

I used to work in the big hall below, and my view was out on to the lake and fields below.

Was the most beautiful place I have ever worked. Especially when it was closed for a short period when foot and mouth hit.

I overlook Piccadilly station. One of the trains was on time!

The other windows look out over the Pennines. On a nice sunny day like today it's nice but also kinda depressing.

A view you say? What were you expecting to see.....

I'm presently looking out of the studio window to see Winter Hill to my left, the wind turbines on Scout Moor in front of me, and Saddlworth Moor to the right. Its one of the best things about work. The view is stunning! Its actually very distracting

I see test bikes being ridden. And vet nurses walking by.
As for the unusual, well, nowt really although the forklift driver had to jump out once when it went off down a bank. Not strictly viewable from my window though.

Chunky - yours is very special grass though. Any news on the Pikes?

One window: Scout Moor windfarm
Other Window: Carrington Power Station (gas turbine)

The windfarm is the older of the two, so not so "new" technology.

An RAF typhoon travelling supersonic (confirmed by the MOD)
Countless Apaches, Chinooks, Tornados and Hurcules'
A man doing a full change of clothes, undercrakers and all.
Two blokes wondering why the rear wheels of their car wouldn't turn, despite them, reving the balls off it, then removing wheels and belting the discs with a wrench, then calling the RAC, who informed them they had (both) left the handbrake on... Their faces were priceless.

Countless Apaches, Chinooks, Tornados and Hercules.

A steam powered car in the car park.

A cow wondered in to the site once as well.

We have a harrier jump jet on display in the car park.

I sit next to a glass fire door which has one way mirror glass in it. I can see out, people on the other side see a mirror.

Girls walking past will often use the glass as a mirror so we're often treated to the sight of girls close up, messing with their hair, doing their make up and just looking at themselves to see how pretty they are.

When all that's not happening, the door faces out onto the smoking area. Amazing the amount of pretty girls who smoke but it is a nice distraction.

I guess blokes must be around there too but I never see them.

Being on the 3rd floor overlooking the main entrance I occasionally see down ladies tops in the summer. Especially the hottie from the ground floor who always wears low cut tops. More pervy than weird but worth a gander all the same. HTH

Our stairs look out on a fire station and they're forever cutting up old cars. Last year they started doing biohazard drills with space suits on.

I'm at home ill.
And out out of my living room window, the RAF are either starting to train pilots with the Apaches. Or we're being invaded.

At work my window moves a lot and some of the the things in front of it will never cease to amaze me!

I used to see models getting changed in the office across the street 3rd floor, we were 5th floor.

It happened about twice a year as they were doing previews for the new season.

Gets boring after 5 mins - honest ๐Ÿ˜€

I worked in an office next to the trafford centre for a while, close to the Manchester ship canal, I couldn't actually see the canal, but would see the occasional ship going past, looked out of place and quite weird.

Legend, we all thought it was a mini earthquake (our whole building shook as it flew over) then saw on the news what it was. We'd dismissed the sonic boom idea, what with them being frowned upon over land.

In chronological order...

Space shuttle on the back of a jumbo jet.
A bloke flying through the air after digging through a power cable with his shovel.
The police pulling a car over, finding a Samurai Sword on the back seat, then jumping on the driver as he tried to leg it.
Battle of Britain flight practicing for an airshow.
Watching smokers having their fags in the rain, because the smoking room was 'too smoky'
