what is the widest drop bars available.
on the tops, rather than on the drops.
i know the flared cx/mtb type are wide on the drop, but i want wide tops.
had some noodles in a 48cm in the past, are they the widest?
Ton - choose any flat bars you want, and add a pair of these...

thing is, i ride on the hoods, and those allan bolts are right in the way.
Can I ask why you want wide drops? Surely drops are for aero and if they're wide you're kind of defeating the point no?
Depends if you ride drops for aero, or just loads of positions/have a stretch/dodge a bit if wind without getting proper aero.
Me, I'm a fat knacker but still prefer drops on the road.
mate, comfort.......nothing else
Oh and Ton, I just use Salsa bell laps, although they do flare at the drops
Fair enough. I run a big stack of spacers on the tourer so see where you're coming from!

48cm is as wide as I have found Ton, as a fellow very wide shoulder/chest owner I know where you are coming from.
Midges are wider.

I think they do actually make the noodle in a 52 but they're pretty hard to get hold of. I have the 48s and they are awesome. The Ragley Luxy is enormously wide, I suspect probably even more than 48cm at the hoods, but probably not what you are after.
