So that takes care of 95% of all stw threads. Even the "what tyres for...". Did he even post on that thread?
A lot falls into either camp I'd say not both. Some of the real ego stuff is quite funny, eg the zoo fight thread was funny.
I guess if someone had bothered to really wind him up on the WHW thread it might have been funny
Because it had all the makings of a potential flame war?
Plus it might undermine the efforts of folk like Rob Lee (is he pro?) if folk start claiming to have outdone him on message boards with no real proof.

Yeah... I was prepared to believe him despite not wanting to, others were more sceptical, then it descended into a bit of a piss take and was closed.
I thought it was quite tongue in cheek, and light-hearted droll amusement ?? But I guess I know George personally not just from forums which puts a different shade on things.
But I only read the first few posts, enough to spot Walter Mitty in action, will run back and read the insult trading..
Maybe the mods found out 'top dog', the OP, was one of smees many alter egos, this time by the mild mannered janitor he keeps for special occasions.

To my knowledge George had nothing to do with the thread .
Guess it got banned because
1. It was'nt true
2. Like 13thdfloormonk said it undermined others efforts
we all got taken in to a certain degree - think the author thought it was a bit of light hearted fun but it got a bit out of hand. Certainly made for an interesting morning though.
As far as i know big G is living a very quiet life in Edinburgh and we are missing him. He is still lurking around this forum though - not identified him yet but give it time 🙂
