Because the fork is a 180mm post mount and needs a 180mm to 203mm post mount adapter and you have used a 160mm post mount to 203mm adapter.

Would it not be closer to the rotor if that was the case rick ? Could it be 160 fork with a 180 to 203 adapter ?

Nope, we saw this lots when the 2015 36 launched. People buying post mount 160mm to 203mm adapters and wondering why the calliper was miles off the disk.

Cheers mate I just assumed that with it only needing 23mm build up compared to 43mm it would have been closer.

I’ve never had 180mm standard forks only 160mm.

Cheers lads

RickDraper FTW

Can I use a 160 to 180 post mount adapter or do it have to get a 180 to 203?

Well its 11.5 and 21.5 as its the radius change.

Just fine tune it with some nice good quality washers. I think Halfords does a pack specifically for spacing calipers. You only need 1.5mm. Sometimes a bit less. You want the pad so it doesn't rub the arm of the rotor
