Nope. Doesn't interest me in the slightest. Seems any roadies that I talk to can only speak in terms of km, and how many they've done that day...dull

^^ this. May adopt one next year (my 45th).
Thing is I hate traffic. PITA.
So could compromise and pick up a CX bike instead.

I don't have one. Don't want one. Don't need one.

I do have a commuter/tourer but that's an Inbred with slicks, mudguards and a rack.

Two.

And if we're doing unfounded generalisms, most "roadies" seem more interested in riding than bikes and talking about bikes.

Couple of cx bikes but no full monty roadie. Be nice to have one but it would be a total luxury purchase for me, I'd rarely ride it.

I don't...but then I only have/need 1 bike...thankfully I have no female gene in me so indecisiveness isn't part of me...no need to decide which bike, just ride the 1 I have!

lots of people by the posts on here and the other very similar thread, i started back cycling in the 80's with a muddy fox courier, but spent much time on the roads, due to a 2 year ban, then went out with local road club, didn't take long to acquire a gazelle, old school campag gear, never looked back-- got an Alan alu road bike, and a Mercian tourer for the long distance/camping trips.

I don't have a road bike, but I do commute, nip to the shops, and sometimes poodle about on the roads on my MTB.

Hate riding on roads so see very little reason to ever buy one

Yes, i understand that if i got one i could get fitter and quicker on the MTB, but i ride for fun not to be quicker than everyone else

I had one. The speed you can go is very addictive, but that was counteracted by constantly being carved up by aggregate lorries.

I have a commuter bike with skinny tyres. Does that count?

I am currently coveting almost every road bike I see, though.
