There's another couple/few inches now - still rideable though. Just me, bambi and foxy loxy on the south loop this morning.

Yeah we saw foxes yesterday, and lots of pawprints down the trail, there had been no-one on the south loop before us yesterday, proper virgin snow

Lovely photo and great cam footage. Looks a bit different from when we did it in March (a touch damper when we were there!!)

Nice video. Chest cams get such a good angle. Must have taken a while to get to the top of that one though?

You seemed to be going down a lot faster in those conditions than I went down in normal conditions! I really must try and motivate myself to get out to Mabie tomorrow. That was a great little vid and I would have liked to have seen more of the descent.

Looks good, almost as though it was a bobsleigh run. Standard rubber?

Nice video and thumbs up for getting out there in the snow....two questions.
1/ Which model GoPRo camera is that?
2/ How long does that vid take to upload? My low res MD80 attempts seem to take an age. Do you have a superfast broadband?
Cheers

Crombie: yeah standard rubber, high roller front and Ignitor rear, both 2.35

Rockhopper:Its the GoPro HD

Takes a while to upload, probably 30 mins for a file like that, not on any superfast BB though, I just tend to set it going and come back to it later

Cheers Karnali, I raced DH for a long time and I can still ride ok as long as I dont have to pedal too much ๐Ÿ™ , fitness is at an all time low at the moment, just trying to get out as much as I can and try and get fitter

Just wondering, have you modified the chest mount at all? I find mine seems to point down a little too much even angled up as far as it will go. I think I need to modify the mount somehow.

grumm, nope, totally standard, although I do tend to adopt the DH position, old habits die hard...I've heard of people having bother though, I think they've just extended the mount with one of the adapters that come with the camera so it sits further out, that way it can be tilted back a bit more

hope that helps

Gaz

Ta Gaz - which mode are you using? I think there is one that gives a bigger vertical field of view - might try that next time. When you say DH position do you mean leaning back?

I meant just a little more upright than your standard XC rider really..

Yeah, I use R4 which gives you a 4:3 (1280x960) view instead of 16:9, seems better for the bike

here is my pathetic uphill crash on the same day, snowy root across the trail takes the back wheel out....if I can continue crashing on the uphills instead of the downs I'll be happy

I'm due up in the Lakes camping this weekend and Whinlatter on Sunday. Are the conditions still passable?

Camping? You're brave. Might be tricky to get a tent peg in. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, not proper camping - rather pods. I'm still rad though. ๐Ÿ˜€

We had more snow yesterday but its still fine, went out last night. But looking at the forecast it looks like there could be a much more significant dump friday so things could be different by the weekend.
