Which tyres should I buy for the above sort of riding?
Must be 700c, I will be using them for on the road and fire roads mainly, probably a bit of muddy stuff but not much.
I was thinking Kenda Small Block 8's, they look like they'd roll fast and a fairly light too.
Anything else worth looking at?

Kenda Kwickers that came on my KHS have been good for the conditions you describe.
Just ordered a pair of conti tour rides in 28mm. Yet to see how good they are but my needs were similar. They go in lots of sizes too.
Brilliant tyre but absolutely useless in mud. Very shallow treads fill up easily and become useless.
Scwalbe marathon....the tyre of choice at the 3 peaks.
