I'm looking for a pair of tyres to use on a 700km ride this summer. It's going to be mostly tarmac but some roads will be unpaved. I'm running 29er WTB i25, so apparently according to the Schwalbe Website, 40c is the lowest to go (annoyingly). I have previously run 35 Voyager Hypers on 30mm rims and learnt harshly why that was a very bad idea (involves skin coming off and corners).
I've been looking at https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/tour-reviews and apparently the Almotions are the ones to get, which look ideal especially for terrain I'll be doing, but I can't help but think that the weight will make a big difference, the Almotions being significantly heavier than the Marathon Supremes. Would really appreciate some input from more some knowledgeable folk on here please! Ideally the fastest and lowest rolling resistance tyres are what I'm going for.
G1 Speed if it's dry. Even the heavier Evo tubless version is only ~560g at 29x2.35".
43mm Gravel King SKs are still on my "to try" list.
Specialized Sawtooth come in 42mm width and roll along quite nicely on road. There's a little bit of tread pattern which helps on gravel/looser stuff.
Marathon GT Tours are lighter and puncture resistant.
