I've been running the standard shimano BB and its o ly lasted 800miles.
What alternatives?

They hollowtech II?
get the same again but don't overtighten the bearing-compression wotsit
(I'd pack 'em with grease too but TJ wouldn't 😳 )

Yeah hollow tech 2. Ummmm perhaps I did over tighten the plastic cap.
So you don't reckon it's worth buying a hope road BB? I don't really want to she'll out 50 notes just for a bike that only sees the sun.

I get 1000's of miles out of Ultegra BBs on the road. Never used a Hope BB but not seen the need to.
