Everyone seems to rave about maxxis high rollers, 42a on the front and 60a on the back.

So decided to get some but there are so many versions of the high roller, is it the DH that you tend to use or the xc.

Single ply/dual ply?

Mostly ride trail centres

if you're prone to pinch flats get dual ply ones, if you're smooth/weight conscious get single ply

i run 42 60 for summer, 42a Swamp thing 60a HR for winter, always dual ply

If your riding DH get the dual ply ones, otherwise go for the 2.35 single plys

Dual plys are really to heavy for all round xc riding

i have a 2.5 60a single ply high roller on the front and a 2.5 minion rear duel ply super tacky on the rear. it dosent climb that well but im all smiles on the dh. the duel ply does weigh a tonne but you will never pinch it....

IS simple terms dh = dual ply.

Single ply 2.35's are the best compromise for me, possibly super tacky (42a) up front but best at 60a all round i find.

if they did a 2.1 tubeless high roller they would be the best tyres ever.

Think they class the 2.1s as XC and 2.35 as DH tyres.
I find 2.35 single plys great, and like 59ttp says, they should be fine unless you are riding DH stuff.

42a on the front and 60a on the back here, both 2.35.

The DH bit tends to apply to the 2.5 or 2.7 ones if you look on CRC.

I do have a set of 2.5 singleply ones both are 42A.

They grip like $h1t to a blanket but have more drag than Danny La Rue ๐Ÿ™

the only difference is the compound and width you choose. If you want 2.35s then you can get both dual/single ply and a choice of compound. I had a 2.35 single ply "maxxpro" kevlar beaded one for a while.

if they did a 2.1 tubeless high roller they would be the best tyres ever.

they used to, and it's discontinued.
