You can get loctite 248- the prittstick one- for £7 so not much more than the cheapest options, and that way you know you're getting something good. And it lasts for ages and is way more convenient than bottles or tubes (imo)

I've had a tiny tube of genuine Loctite in my tool bag for years. Only cost a couple of quid and shows no sign of running out yet, and isn't drying up or anything. For home use you won't use much as it's much more common to grease threads than lock them.

Can't remember which number sorry.

The last thread lock I purchased was from a local rc model shop, a small bottle of blue loctite has been great and lasts for ages.

There's nothing wrong with 243, which has a breakaway torque of 26Nm, but some fixings might only torque to 4Nm.
You're trying to prevent loosening typically caused by vibration and general use, too high a breakaway torque might damage smaller threads and softer materials on dismantling

Get some advice at a local engineering shop

222 is what I use. Very light break away but never had anything undo itself either. Seems spot on for bike stuff if you only want one strength.
