I used to use Sintered over the winter and organics through the summer, and everything was nice and simple. Then those new fangled kevlar pads came along and there was little/no reason to swap pads any more.
So, shimano have always had warnings on their disks to use organic pads only as sintered pads wear the disk (and boil brake fluid, and kill baby kittens, etc etc). But the new Ice Tech rotors have ridiculously thin braking surfaces and cost a fair bit more than the old solid rotors so I'm more inclined to follow the advice.
Has anyone found that kevlar pads wear rotors like sintered ones do? I've only ever destroyed one set of rotors entirely with sintered pads over a couple of years in the peaks, so I'm not going to use sintered.
