I'm vegetarian so would have to have the meta (and not the meat).

They are both MTB frames, thats where the similarities end.

Some say the Meta 6 is a bit heavy and steep.

What's yr budget and are you definitely after frame only?

My friend has a Mega and says it's incredible descending, OK climbing and a bit lacklustre on the flat.

Couple of offers on CRC...

Yeti 575

You could get an Angleset for the Kona to get close to 66degrees on the head angle.

Erm, have you seen that CRC appear to have bought all the old Commencal stock - due mid December - some real bargains to be had there.

Actually I just had a look at the Meta 6 out of curiosity and it has a standard 67.5deg headangle with swappable head tube inserts to go +/- one degree.

So ignore my comment abiout it being steep.

Sounds like you've already decided you want it anyway though.

😉

I love my Meta 6 and find it way more useable than I thought. It's happy in the Alps or riding the local Singletrack. So much so that I've decided to sell my 5" travel Santa Cruz Nickel as I hardly ever ride it.

Be warned though that the standover height on the large Meta 6 isn't great. You also need to have the Maxle on the rear or it all gets a bit bendy.

If you need any more Meta 6 info let me know.
