I need to plan my winter and am wondering if I've missed a trick all these years? Are people going somewhere ride-able (road excluded)?

The same places but on a cx? Even wanstead flats becomes entertaining at speed in the filth...
Lea valley towpath, Marshes, Roding valley, Gunpowder park the same applies.
Put on some 28mm slicks and muck about on the hills around highgate/archway?

I hardly rode the forest last winter, did a couple of nice rides up the canal to Hertford on the CX bike, will likely do that again.
How are the Chilterns in winter.....equally gloopy?

Chicksands and Woburn are ok-ish unless it's been seriously wet. Grinds your pads down pretty quickly if proper wet though. Still better than Barton Hills clay!
