Afternoon all

I've been googling but not found what I'm looking for yet...possibly using the wrong terms.

I'm after a rubber strap that can be tightened up around the air can of my rear shock to open it for servicing.

Does anyone know what it might be called or where I can get one?

Thanks, Simon

Leave the top bolted to the frame and wear some marigolds.. ๐Ÿ˜€ worked for me..
And let All the air out.

go give blood and keep the little rubber straps they use to get the veins up in your arm, and do it by hand as you dont want to crush the delicate air can.

That was quick - thanks for all of the leads guys.

Just ordered all of the lube, oil etc so looks like I'm all set for servicing the forks and shock.

How hard can it be....?

I've just done it by hand.

I just wrapped a cloth around mine and did it by hand. Worked fine.

I've always just got them open by hand. Surely they shouldn't be that tight?

I thought you were meant to put the eyelet in a vice?

Or use some blocks of wood and g-clamp instead, to provide the leverage?

If you drop the pressure our of the can you should be able to open it by hand.
It can be easier to open the can up on the bike but it depends if there are bushings which need to be removed.
Have a look at http://video.mpora.com/watch/KRTj23Tn7/ for basic directions
