I've been running superstar switch evo hubs on DT rims that I built up myself now for 6 months, impressed with the hubs for the money, standing up to mud & grit of the Peak District well so far.Hope that helps.

In my opinion It's worth thinking about resale value. Not that many people on the classifieds looking for red rims. White keeps more options open.

I run hope hoops on flows by the way, just black though.

stans rims - like

superstar components - would not purchase due to reputation, but have not used them

dt stuff - unknown

alloy nipples - would not touch having seen too many seize.

I was looking at a Superstar wheel-set. Looked great value for money, lots of options etc.

On further research I found quite a few bad reviews. Generally the free-hub would give up after 6 months or so. Decided not to risk it and save up for something that had consistently better reviews.

One of the lads I ride with bought a Superstar rear hub, it lasted about 2 months. Stick with a quality brand rather than budget imported cheap tat that has had a Superstar logo laser-etched onto it.

I've no problem with Superstar products but I wouldn't buy from them due to their previous, err, 'marketing' activities.
