[Closed] Wheelbuilding spoke Q - how short is too short?

Built a set of s/s road wheels last weekend, DT Swiss spoke calculator gave me 294mm front, 291mm rear (narrower and bigger flanges on the rear).

Front is spot on, rear has ~2mm of spoke thread showing all the way round.

There must be a decent amount of thread in the nipples, but is this just cosmetically annoying, or will I die?

Thanks!

2mm is a lot!

Most of the time I wind them on untill the thread dissapears then add tension.

No idea if it's OK though.

Yeah, that's what I thought, no idea what I've done wrong, never got a bum steer from the DT site before.

(I say 2mm, maybe 1.5)

was the calc done with 14mm nipples and you've used 12mm?

Anyone got any thoughts on likelihood of death?

likelihood of death?

100%

from your current spoke issue? Maybe ride them and see if they loosen off.

personally I'd be looking get either longer nipples or spokes involved fairly soon.
