Help!

I need to build a 29er front wheel (on the cheap) from parts I have lying around in the shed.

I have WTD ASYM i29 and an unbranded hub and need to order some spokes.

Having built from scratch a couple of sets of 27.5 symmetrical rims on hope hubs it was all too easy to use the spoke calculator on the pro wheel builder website.

But this time not knowing the hub and having asymmetrical rim, I'm not sure if the outcome it correct.

I've measured the hub as per Roger Musson's book and this time used his calculator as it has and offset to account for the asymmetrical rim. I assume that when selecting the front wheel from the drop down menu it assumes that the offset is toward the non-disk side and it's doing the head scratching for me?

Just double checking before I order the spokes.

Thanks 🙂

I don’t know the spoke calculator but if you remove the offset from the calculation won’t the resulting change answer your question?

Can't help with the question as I've not yet built an asym rim but depending on spoke length you might get some really cheap ones from superstar (£20 for 100 sapim race). If you need 298mm I have a load left over from one of those 100 packs you can have cheaply.

Ok, I feel a little foolish now. RB, I did remove the offset and the lengths are within half a mm.

Case closed!

Nixie, thanks for the offer I need 290mm but that thanks
