Ahmm! might be needing a frame bearing set off him as the price of £39.99 seems reasonable I guess compared with the £40 odd I was quoted for Japanese precizion (x1) each, bearing (rubber sealed not metal)for a front hub.
But have done a search on here and found a load of replies about him and to him aswell as a load of spouting on descent world that was deleted by mods a while ago.
SO what's the deal here then.
It looks as if he's offering a set of bearings with improved mods to the seals and packing of the grease at half the price of what the bike shop might charge.
BUT
People on here don't seem happy for some reason???
I don't get it ismply put, can someone enlighten me.
he's a bit of an ass and talks the biggest amount of balls but he can supply bearings and gets them out pretty quickly. wouldn't particularly expect anything better or longer lasting than anything else you can source.
Not really sure what happened to him. His user name on here was kaesae, but I think I saw something a while back saying he was back under a new name (think it had 'wind' in it somewhere, sorry I cant be more specific). He got loads of grief initially, as he had loads of frames for sale on e-bay and folk thought they were nicked. Initially he came across as a bit argumentative and 'odd', but as far as I recall, he turned out to be a decent bloke.
he's frequently acted up on this forum when people commented on his "reconditioned" bikes that looked gopping. That and he acted like the sun shone out of his arse...
But if he's providing something better for a reasonable price then buy them, certainly at half price!

he got an unfeasibly hard ride on here, including some very libelous and unfounded suggestions that he was dealing in stolen property and I actually ended up feeling sorry for him
I actually had some correspondance with him and he seemed like a genuine person just out to try and make a business work
He sent me some freebie bearings and they are still going strong 6 months later so no complaints from me
(ok they where a different make to what he originally said he would send but some research on t'interweb showed them to be of equal quality and price)
In summary - he can supply bearings, and cheaply,
will they last any longer?
dunno but they are certinally no worse
do they live up to his hype?
No, nothing would 'cause some of his claims where outragous and not based on any scientific fact
would I actually buy from him?
Possibly yes but possibly not whilst he has a sound business, and he was getting some severe goading I didnt like his 'attitude' (although a different person one 2 one), main reason though - I would go to a local bearing supplier and get them at a 'wholesale' price rather than an inflated bike shop price
Go to bearing supplier, buy bearings, lift seals with a scalpel or brand new Stanley knife blade, fill the bearings with a good quality waterproof grease, replace the seals. That is all that Kaetec will be doing.

fully pregreased.
If you run the cheepo crap and you have to strip your bike 2 ot 3 times more you'll end up spending just as much.
The bearings on ebay are mostly chinnese which means rubbish material and useless seals. They will rust pretty quickly and lose shape.
kaesae is a nutter for sure but SKF INA bearing that are fully pregreased will out last any other bearing kits you will find for the money.
Although I'm not sure about the brands I think emailing and asking some questions could be a good idea.
as above really he was a total arse on here I would avoid him on principle even if it cost me more but I do that with people/companies I think are tools
i believe if everyone on here avoided everyone who was an arse on here from time to time it would be a very quiet forum...

lummox, the point being how many of the other asshats are trying to run a business and getting into surreally offensive (and I mean totally out there frothing at the mouth stuff) arguments with potential clients?
To the OP, you'll have gathered kaesae has a unique personality that offends people, but the real points should be
1) is his product any good?
2) is the price right?
3) is his customer service and support up to scratch?
If your bearings are regular sizes not some specialist fitting then I'd be pricing them up from local bearing factors and ebay bearing suppliers (like GAP Bearings) as well as the likes of simplybearings.co.uk and bearing-king.co.uk. I dont know if the owners of any of these outfits are obnoxious.
Brant often comes across on here as blunt, arrogant and cantankerous yet half of STW ride his bikes...

Interesting he was using a different user name to sway people's opinion to think kaetec. Very off putting imo.
#edit# @ Munqe-chick, - That's the thing though, the after sales support is what's playing havoc with my decision as he claims the performance set lasts upto 5years, I mean really, maybe they will but will need removing and repacking with grease surely?
just buy the bearings on ebay, usually 99p each, and then pack em with grease
i bought some bearings off him and they seem fine. I bought them because they were half the price of a betd set. I figured if i buy them and they last half as long I've lost nothing and if I buy them and they last as long then they're pretty good value.
Very happy with the bearings and service I got off him. I will use him again and he is recommended by me.
I have been told that he has previously been to court for Reset (stolen Cove Hustler). I have no reason to doubt the person who told me this (police officer) and Kaesae never did explain where he sources all of his frames from.
