I am building my 18" at the mo. Got 50mm thompson stem, wide bars, bolt throu revs, mainly slx g-set with dual ring set up. Should get it finished this week and get its first test ride at the weekend. Will let you know how I get on and maybe post up some pics

mine will have a 50mm stem and 130mm travel forks, does that help?

Ok, details of mine

I'm 5'9", 31" inseam. I ride a 16" blue pig.

Forks are 2008 pikes, bought brand new to fit to the new frame - I wanted the 20mm bolt through. I've a 75mm 6deg stem on, with loads of spacers underneath so I can play with the positioning. Wasn't quite sure how high it would need to be but haven't so far felt the need to move it down.

I've gone for EA30 bars and the width feels right. I went oversize, more to standardise than for the benefits of rigidity, but it feels nice.

Steering is lot more precise than on the inbred (was running '05 revs I think, the brown ones, set at 115m travel), and hence a lot more confidence inspiring when combined with the head angle. On the early rides, I suffered a bit from the head angle, not knowing when the wheel would bite and worrying that it would wash out. I seem to be getting the hang of it now and haven't had that for a while. Likewise, on early rides I sometimes spun the back wheel when climbing, maybe due to moving my weight too far forward? Haven't had that happen either in a while. Ok, my fitness is better than it was but I've cleaned climbs on this that I've never cleaned before, and gone further on the climbs I havent cleaned: I got out of Jagger's clough up to Hope Cross without dabbing, which I've never done before, and on the North america bridleway climb I had two rolling dabs before re-joining Cut Gate proper, which is tons better than I've ever done before - and that was at 140mm, not wound down to 95mm like Jaggers clough!

Hoping to make it to Ogden Water for the group ride, so interested parties will be able to swing a leg over it

50mm stem and 27" plus wide bars.
Bolt through 140 forks (Revelations on my Ti) or Fox 36 Talas if you want the ultimate.
Strong wheels because it's fun to go fast on rocky ground on this bike.
SLX double and bash cranks.
2.35 and wider tyres.
Ride the fork and don't go hanging off the back all the time. It's a bike that responds well to aggressive riding.
