What winter facemask?

As an unapologetic retro-grouch never-Zwifter I want to keep my winter base miles up but want to do everything in my power to avoid any bugs. I'm already sat at home contemplating giving the weekend's CX race a miss after a brief visit to London has left me sniffling.

I'd like to do what I can to protect the airways on cold days, I've got ice spikes on my singlespeed so have no excuse not to get out and enjoy the sparkly roads. I see various windproof and waterproof balaclavas, and Ale and Castelli do literal facemasks. I guess I'm looking for something purpose-made that doesn't get completely sodden like a buff over the mouth does.

Any recommendations?

Ta

Like some sort of skiing face mask I expect?

I've got a Barts Storm mask semi-neoprene thing that's good for skiing in sub-zero icy winds / snow but it is a bit Hannibal Lecter.  Not sure I'd wear it on the bike!

•••••••

Cut a mouth hole and then sew the edges of an existing buff?

or perhaps purchase an Air Hole, designed for skiers, and let me know if it is worth the premium

Are the holes sold as aftermarket spares so they can be applied to ones own masks?
