[Closed] What sub 32 tooth chainset / chainring combo for an Alfine geared ECR?

I think I'm sorted with an ECR frame. I want to build it up as a bikepacking bike. I have an Alfine 8 speed hub on my Pugsley with a 32x23 chainring - sprocket. I find even with no baggage the low gear is still way too tall. The larger wheels on the ECR will make this combination even less desirable with added weight.

The 23 sprocket is the largest available so the only way to reduce the gearing is to fit a smaller chainring. So I need a chainset that will hopefully allow at least a sub 30t 'ring.

Any suggestions? I regrettably sold a set of Middleburn cranks a while back which would have been ideal. Is there anything I should look out for?

I could have sworn that on the S500 Alfine model, the chainring had to be at least twice the tooth number of the sprocket.

On my 2008 Saracen Pylon8, the chainring was 38T and sprocket 19T.

Do what I did for a while and use a double/triple chainset and use a granny ring to get the smaller rings and put a bashing on the outside to make it look pretty.
Or get one of the newer spiderless chainsets to get smaller chain rings.
I've a new 23t rear sprocket here if you want it.

The 30 tooth narrow wide black spire fits 104bcd cranks. Mine is 9, 10 & 11 speed compatible, apparently. Currently running it 11 speed.
