See whether you can try both, you'll get 50/50 response by asking here. For every person that says 18" another will recommend a 20".

Talk to a dealer, they'll be able to get a demo model from Orange for you to test, usually for a fee refundable against a purchase.

i had an 18" older model, when i broke it (not a fault of the bike) i swapped to a 20"

I'm 6'4" and find the 20" almost perfect i run a lot of post and shortish stem.

I would say that if you tend to hop off the bike a lot you may find the 20" top tube a bit too close to the jewels but if you're buying new i think the new dropped top tube should help with that.

Smaller is a touch lighter though ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm 5'11" and have an 18" 5SE. Anything smaller would have been too small. Even now I sometimes think the top tube is a bit short. If I were you, I'd go for a 20" and maybe change to a shorter stem if it feels too long!

Of course, it does depend how much of your 6'1" is body and how much is leg! As has been said before, try and find one to at least sit on!

5'9" and ride an 18" - lent it to my 6ft mate and he wasn't comfy on it. 20" IMO!

It's also one of the few good looking 20" bikes too!

I am 6ft 1" and ride a 20" Orange Five with a 80mm stem. I tested the 18" and it felt too small, loads of seatpost showing plus short in the top tube.

Im 5foot8 and my five is 18. Feels right for me, but as been said its personal preference. Most places have a five on demo as they seem to be popular. ๐Ÿ˜€

6'0" here- Long legs, shorter body. 18" is spot on for me with either 70mm or 90mm stem.

I had an 18" inbred too which was perfect, so would say if your 456 was a good fit, the 18" five should be too.

19.5" Handjob was way too big for me.

No substitute for testing one though.

I'm 6 foot with long legs and a short body. I have an 18" with a 70mm stem, and a long seatpost with a bit of layback.

6ft 1 and ride an 18. 33inch inside leg. plenty of room in the cockpit (well in comparison to my mates 18inch Epiphany). I do marathons and race xc on it, never had comfort problems.
Talas fork makes the world of difference, drop it down 100mm for fast climbing, racing stuff, 120mm when just piddling about 140mm when it gets lary!

I've genuinely raced xc masters 1 sunday, done a merida marathon the next and thrown it down the downhill course at Cwncarn the one after that.
You will not be disappointed! I've had many bikes in the last 10years but think the 5 will be staying with me indefinately! Best investment i've ever made bike wise, + BRITISH to boot.
