Looking for a new multi tool to replace my old one but I've no idea where to start.

Ideally light and compact but I'd quite like a chain breaker on it so I can understand if its not massively weight weenie!

Does everything you need. I've had one for 5 years now and it's been faultless. Great chain tool as well, so good I don't bother with a workshop version.

Topeak Ratchet Rocket with the additional chain tool is neat, well made and functional. Just don't expect that you will be able to remove pedals with the ratchet.

Toppeak Hexus 2 - not the lightest but the tools work including the chain tool (I've had to use it to fix a broken chain on a ride)...light does not necessrily mean fit for purpose...

I'm still rocking my Topeak Alien from the mid 90's

Crank Brothers m17. This pretty much sums up how I feel about mine: review

I recently got the LifeLine Professional 21-in-1 Multi-Tool, pretty much got everything I need, but when I tried to break the chain with it the other day the chain breaking part was too small to get enough grip on to resist the force required to screw the pin pusher through the chain so gave up and went to shed for proper tool. The SKS & Crank.Bros. tools in the review posted above look to have similar chain breakers. But maybe was being a bit hamfisted and had not got things aligned?

I really like my crank brothers Y16. Its a little larger than most, but it does give a different level of trail side tool. The parts are well made, the Y tools are strong and allow a good leverage.

I'm not always sure on the co2 cap, but other models don't have it.

I would point out though, it us quite large and is only suitable if you ride using a bag.

Nexus 2. Big enough to be useful but small enough to be pocketable. Can't fault mine. If I lost it, I'd replace it in a heartbeat.

Topeak Hexus 2 as stated earlier, brilliant tool, I have used one for many years and the chain tool is excellent.

Lezyne V10/SV10 - the Topeak Hexus is a huge lump in comparison and the tyre levers snap. Chainbreaker on Lezyne works too.

I have one of these and would not want to be without it.

Cube RFR 16.

Very slim and light and has just the minimum of tools (including chaintool).

I hate my crank bros 17...it flops around and is just perfectly awkward. However, it won't die so I'm stuck with it many years later.

Carnk Brothers M17 for me since 2007, or I've just bought a Stique-made in the UK (Cannock) & has some quirky little features. Made from Carbon too, so obviously they're faster. 😉

This, and Tredz are doing them for something like £18 at the moment too - win

Same here. I was gutted when I lost my first one with the original green band. The best thing Crank Bros make.

Don't do the park tool 3.2 . I bought one and first use the screws holding the body together fell out, Googled it and it's a common problem, leaving me with a pile of bits. I used longer screws to put it back together but it's now stiff and rubbish. First and last time for those tools.
