I'm in the process of building up a new frame, however my steerer tube is about 5-10mm too short. I've currently got an FSA Pig, but was thinking that if I swap the headset to one with at lower stack height I can I get the extra 5-10mm needed?
Am I right? If so please recommend a suitable headset (that wont totally empty my bank account). Thanks.
Crank brothers.
The crank Bros website, states that the headsets have a stack height of just under 21mm, does anyone know of any lower?
AFAIK the CB one is the lowest standard 1 1/8th headset. You'll have to start considering replacing the stem if you need lower
Not sure what the stack height is but my Cane Creek double XC 2 flush is well, flush. Its for a 1.5 headtube though?
Its currently FS at £35 posted - been in the classifieds this week.... let me know if you want it....

Avoid Crank Bros unless you like a rusty headset / bearing when they see moisture.
FSA XL2 has a pretty low stack height
