Some of my local trails are very rooty and rocky and I'm wondering what kind of all mountain bike/suspension system is best for soaking up such harsh obstacles and allowing you to carry your speed through such sections? Thanks.

definately a mountain bike. preferably a ss69er made of titanium by a man in a shed in nebraska. If you don't have that specific bike I wouldn't bother riding.

I would just buy the bike you think looks prettiest and is a nice colour and then only ride the appropriate terrian for that bike
