Mark has suggested a visit to the pump track at Cardona.
Anyone else interested in driving across and out of Edinburgh after work for 45 - 60 mins to cycle around a rough field for a couple of hours, signify your interest here.
Any other trails that you could link up to it? I am in the area on holiday and will have my bike with me.
Gypsy Glen?
Does Deliverance spit you out near Cardrona?
Mark is very silly, Pump track? We have all sorts of great trails and he wants to play on a pump track?
jimmy yes it does ... cross the stream at the bottom of deliverance and head down to the farm at cardrona
Now that I'll be on holiday from Monday I'm keen to manage a TBC Wednesday evening ride... but would rather do more than Druidh's succint description!
add a minibus and some beer and you might get more interested in the pump track idea ๐
OK - NOT Cardrona.
Since the response has been somewhat less than overwhelming, I propose we stick to the usual plan.
Leave TBC around 6:15
Meet at Bonaly shop around 7:00
Faff around the hills deciding on routes as we go.......
Whose turn is it to bring the chain splitter?
I'm hoping to be along... Will try to think of something a tad different to sample
Better sort a proper bike out then...
Whose turn is it to bring the chain splitter?
I might not bring any tools this week and avoid the role of responsible MBL.
well maybe a zip-tie or two...
I thought Calton Hill was the venue for getting pumped????
No body fancy the Gypsy Glen or Rocky Ridge?
Was thinking about Ben Cleugh but it's looking a bit breezy. May be at Bonaly.
May I suggest attempting to keep the distance / speed not too high - last one I was on was a bit much for those of us that live over this side of town.
Just listened to forcast on BBC Scotland. V windy with some rain tomorrow- maybe do Pentlands but keep it low down?
In theory up for this but I've already got one manky bike to deswamp from the weekend so might skive it if the weather looks grim.
Though I'd be up for the pump track thing too, maybe some other week, spend a bit of time there and then nip back to GT for a shortened red lap, could get both in before we lost the light I reckon. Though, the only other time I did one of them things, I could only do it because I was drunk, when I did it sober I kept riding off into the rosebushes)
I think Im going to keep it to an hour and a half thrash through the local woods tomorrow (Butterdean) seeing as the forecast Is looking gloomy. That and I cant guarantee being at Bonaly for 7 .
Catch you again soon though.
Err - the forecast I've just looked at looks fine. Sunny intervals, 17C and a bit of a breeze. Bonaly and wing it sounds like the best plan then.
I'll be along to Bonaly for seven.
I'll be at TBC for 6.15 although i may pop in this afternoon for a look at helmets mine is erm......passsed its best.
Should make this one, see y'all at Bonaly shop - would someone be kind enough to post a link to the shop's location, please?
Bonaly Shop is here (shuts at half six though, just in case you were planning on grabbing any sweeties)
Cheers, Debaser - should be there 6.30/7.00pm.
I'm doing "old skool" tonight...
Tranny for me i think. Looks all green in the sun.
Was very windy up there last night.
Got blown off the climb out of Green Cleugh towards Black Hill twice.

Lucky guy ๐ฏ
EDIT: Not coming tonight, but I'm uber-keen for Ben Cleugh or Dumyat next week if an away trip is on the cards...
"blown on the climb.." would have been lucky.
wouldn't want to get in folks' way now...

Tut tut, I hope he didn't break your glasses ๐ฏ
Grand ride out this evening chaps. Ta
Better ride than expected, thank god the wind died down a bit (great assistance up Maidens though). Shame that bracken's come up so much around Shearie Knowe (where we sat watching TJ piercing inner tubes). The mandatory pics -

Cheers Tj but never done that , been down Dreghorn drop a few times but never spotted an alternative way down . I presume It's half way down and to the right.?
Anyhoo looks good , Im sure Ill find It some day.
Next week is pub ride night. looks like the Allan Ramsay is a bit far, so either Flotterstone, a couple of pints and back, or drop down to Currie before heading home (or both?)
Sounds good Coast Kid has driven me the last couple of times so better repay the favour. Apart from the red road (thanks to TBC) is a mystery anything south would be ace...
