Got the new XT double running as single ring and don't want to file down the mounts for the inner ring. Got an LG1+ on order but that looks like it requires filing. Anyone fitted anything that didn't need filing?
I'm running xt's with a lg1 needed no filing and fits perfect
I've used an LG1, an SRS and a Gamut. All have required the tabs to be filed off. I had a blackspire that didnt, but it was shit. MRP may be ok? Why dont you want to file the tabs off?
May want to use it as a double again sometime so don't want to file them down.
this is my setup.
68mm bb no spacers on non driveside
driveside lg1 iscg adaptor - 2 2.5mm spacers - bb
32t chainring on the inside of the tabs
Sounds like your chainline would be well out of whack with that setup. Get your chainline right, then if it needs filing, so be it!
You wont go back to a double anyway.
Just done a bit of measuring and I think my chainline is about 53mm, that's with a 2mm spacer on the drive side. I'll take this off to make it 51mm, which should be ok with a XCX ST (though I quite like the look of the Paul's one.)
Edit: this would explain why my XCX one wouldn't work as it needs a 49mm chainline ๐
what I failed to mention is that the iscg adaptor is on the backplate in such a way. once the 2 2.5mm spacers are on there the bb cup is 1/2 pertuding out of lg1 backplate. so everything is nice and snug with a nice chainline
If it works, then it works I guess. But with an ISCG adaptor and 5mm of spacers, I would have thought your cranks would be too far over to the right.
Thanks all.
Well the XCX is on it's way back to CRC. An LG1+ and XCX-ST are on their way. I'll see what works and send the other back.
I've got a MRP G2 Mini running with no modifications
Just stuck a front mech on for now. The G2 mini does look tempting, but that didn't come with the BB to ISCG adapter plate so would have been quite a bit more expensive than the LG1+.
bet ive got one of those back plates kicking about if you need one. just pay postage. drop me a mail if your e13's dont fit.
Thanks slowrider, already ordered the Lg1+ that's meant to come with a back plate.
Quick update on this. Got the LG1+ today and with the BB adapter and the 1.5mm spacer it fits fine. There's probably about 2mm between the inner chainring mounts and the device. May be a mud trap, we'll see.
I use a BB mount Gamut and it's fine. I need to remove the bolts from the granny ring mounts, but no filing necessary. It's got a bashring though rather than a taco if that makes any difference.
